Equipment

  • Small Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 small red pepper
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 6 small mozzarella balls
  • 8 black olives
  • 1 frozen cheese pizza

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven according to the pizza Instructions. Next, Assemble the toppings.
  • Bell Pepper Tongues: Cut the top off the bell pepper (don’t throw it out), and remove the seeds and membranes. Follow the white lines and cut it all the way down to the base. The pieces will be pointy on the end, so use a sharp knife and round off the tip. If the “tongue” is too wide, slice thin layers off the sides until you get a tongue-like shape that you’re happy with.
  • Bell Pepper Lips: Use a small knife to cut around the bell pepper stem and cut the pepper into two long pieces. When you put them together, the gap where the stem was will make it look like lips that are opened a little bit. I used two small pieces of zucchini for the fangs.
  • Black Pepper Spiders: Each spider takes two black olives to make the body and the legs. Cut one olive in half (vertically) and use one half as the body.  Cut the other olive in half and then cut each half into three legs. You will have one half of an olive left which you can use as the body for the next spider.
  • Green Worms: To make the green worms, you’ll need a spiralizer to shred zucchini into long, skinny worms. Leave the skin on the zucchini for color and texture.
  • Mozzarella Eyeballs: Use small mozzarella balls (I got them from the olive bar at Whole Foods) and top each one with a round olive slice to look like an iris.
  • Arrange the toppings on the pizza and bake it according to the frozen pizza instructions.

Notes

  • Use a frozen cheese pizza to make Halloween dinner super quick and simple!
  • If you decide to make the pizza crust from scratch, make sure you put the spooky toppings on top of the shredded mozzarella cheese so you can still see the worms, spiders, eyeballs, and vampire tongues.
  • Store the leftover pizza in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
